TRICHY: A science centre designed to provide practical exposure to children in government schools was inaugurated at the Syed Murthuza Government Higher Secondary School in Trichy
A mobile laboratory was also inaugurated by school education minister K A Sengottaiyan at a function held in the school on Tuesday.
The laboratory was established at a cost of Rs4 lakh and will benefit students from other schools as well. It will be open for students from nearby schools and both the projects will benefit around 4,000 children annually in the city and surrounding villages.
The facility is equipped to perform more than 150 experiment and models covering subjects like chemistry, ecology and astronomy.
