Rotary Club of Madras to host golf tourney
The Rotary Club of Madras will host the 11th edition of its Annual Merchant's and Banker's Golf Tournament on January 19 at the Tamil Nadu Golf Federation (TNGF)-Cosmo Golf Course.
The tournament, which is presented by Omega Healthcare and The Hindu BusinessLine, will have around 200 golfers drawn from corporate companies, banks, legal, medicine and architecture fields, government service, armed forces and the consular corps who will congregate to support the various community-building projects undertaken by the Rotary Club.
The funds raised from the event will be used towards the Club's ongoing projects in education and skill development, which include new school buildings and scholarships, a building for the women empowerment centre at Sembakkam, vocational training programmes and water and sanitation projects. Golfers Shubhankar Sharma and Ajeetesh Sandhu have extended their support to the event, and signed merchandise from them will be auctioned on January 20 during the prize presentation dinner.
