Omega Healthcare, a healthcare offshore medical billing, coding and revenue cycle management (RCM) service provider, has said that it will add 1,500 employees at its five offices, and make Bengaluru its largest centre next year.
In an interaction with DH, Omega Healthcare Co-founder and CEO Gopi Natarajan said the company is geared up to capture the growing business opportunities in the US healthcare industry. "Besides the US healthcare industry's migration in coding system, Omega Healthcare's move to scout new opportunities will really demand us to expand our headcount," said Natarajan.
The company has 10,500 employees. "We are planning to add 600 in Bengaluru, 700 in Trichy, and 200 in the Philippines next year. The addition of 1,500 will have a net addition of 2,500 staff to manage three shifts," he said. Currently, the company has 3,550 workers in Bengaluru, 3,800 in Trichy, 3,050 in Chennai, 110 in Bhimavaram (Andhra Pradesh), and 540 in the Philippines.
"We are a revenue cycle management company in the healthcare vertical, and Omega Healthcare is registering steady growth of 30% of compound annual growth rate (CAGR). We will maintain this growth rate in the coming year too," he said.
On the company's unique selling proposition, he said the go-to-market strategy is different from other players and there is always client centricity in the approach.
"Ours is not a wholesale market. So we sell it to channel partners and other aggregators of business. This helps us reduce competition with our end-client," he said.
He also said the company has gone up in the value chain of service delivery with Technology-based solutions. "This helps them be more efficient processes and assist humans in making decisions. Besides introducing the computer-assisted medical coding, we have automated lots of work and provided customised automation," he said.
Omega, which has over 100 clients, has decided to expand its market reach by looking at Canada and European markets next year. "We are expecting business from the Middle East and Australia," he said.
