Every year, Software Technology Parks of India, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, presents these awards to various IT/ITeS companies to appreciate and recognize their performance and contributions to the state of Karnataka. The STPI IT Exports Awards have been given during the state's flagship event BengaluruITE.biz since 1998, which is co-hosted by STPI, underlining the strong cooperation and collaboration between STPI and the Dept. of IT, BT & S&T.

Gopi Natarajan, Co-Founder & CEO Omega Healthcare, has been awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year at the CII Connect 2016, held on September 28th, at ITC Grand Chola, Chennai. The award was presented by Mr M Manikandan, IT Minister, Government of Tamil Nadu.
